Two Rochester people injured in separate incidents on Dewey Avenue less than three hours apart
Rochester, New York – On Monday night two people were shot on Dewey Avenue in separate incidents.
According to Rochester Police, around 10:15 p.m., they responded to the 100 block of Dewey Avenue for the report of a female shot.
Upon arrival at the scene, they found a 41-year-old woman from Rochester who had been shot at least once.
Police say three hours later, around 1:06 a.m., they responded to a report of a male shot near the 100 block of Dewey Avenue.
When they arrived on the scene, they found a 44-year-old man from Rochester who had been shot at least once in his lower body.
Both victims were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Both are expected to survive.
According to police, while the incidents happened in “close proximity to one another,” they have not yet determined what led to them or if they are connected.
At this time there are no suspects in custody reported. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 423-9300.
