Rochester teens invited to explore jobs, internships, and training at ROC Youth Fair on Saturday, part of city’s push to empower future workforce

Rochester, New York – This Saturday, East High School at 1801 E. Main St. will be bustling with activity as it hosts the 4th Annual ROC Youth Community Resource & Employment Fair. Scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m., the event is set to provide a vital platform for young individuals between the ages of 14 and 21 to explore a variety of job opportunities and resources aimed at aiding their employment journeys.
The fair, known for its vibrant and supportive atmosphere, will feature an array of area employers, recruiters, and community agencies, all gathered with the common goal of empowering the next generation. Young attendees will have the unique chance to engage directly with potential employers and learn about various career pathways, including part-time jobs, internships, and vocational training programs. Among the highlighted opportunities is the City’s Summer of Opportunity Program, which offers structured job experiences to foster practical skills among youth.
Organizers encourage not only the young participants but also their parents, guardians, and mentors to join the event. The presence of supportive adults is seen as crucial in helping the youth make informed decisions about their careers and educational pathways.
For those interested in attending, registration is open at the city’s official website. The ROC Youth Resource & Employment Fair is not just an event but a community effort to build a brighter future by connecting the youth with resources that enhance their skills and employability. This initiative is a part of the broader services provided by Youth Employment Services (YES), which supports city residents aged 14 to 20 who are enrolled in middle school, high school, or a TASC program.
YES offers a comprehensive suite of programs designed to develop both interpersonal and professional skills necessary for the workplace. These include Beyond Employment Skills Training (BEST), Snack and Learn sessions, paid internships, and even an annual HBCU Tour, among other valuable resources.
As the community gears up for this impactful gathering, the anticipation is high. The fair promises to be a stepping stone for many young individuals looking to start or advance their career paths in a supportive and resource-rich environment.
