Due to COVID Governor Kathy Hochul renews executive order in NY

Albany, New York – Governor Hochul has renewed a disaster emergency in NY, citing COVID transmission rates in NY.

On Tuesday, in an executive order signed, she sites that hospital admissions remaining at over 100 per day were the reason to extend the order.

Statewide hospitalizations were at 1938, with 38 deaths on Tuesday.

Out of 100,000 New Yorkers with a percentage positivity of 7.09%, the Capital Region had a 7-day infection rate of 17.37.

Central, NY at 10.89 and Western NY at 11.85.

The executive order was signed and set to expire on July 14th. Her previous order was signed a month prior, and set to expire on June 14th.

Vaccination efforts continue with over 39 million doses administered with 74.6% of all New Yorkers who have completed vaccination.
