The Town of Pittsford invites residents to review and comment on proposed Zoning Code updates in public hearings set for March 18 and 27, shaping the future of the town

Pittsford, New York – Residents of Pittsford will soon have a chance to weigh in on proposed updates to the town’s Zoning Code, as public hearings are scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, and Thursday, March 27. These meetings mark the final stages of a long-running effort to revise the town’s zoning regulations to align with the broader goals outlined in Pittsford’s Comprehensive Plan.
The hearings will take place in the Fisher Meeting Room at the Pittsford Community Library, located at 24 State Street, beginning at 6:00 PM on both dates. The revised zoning code, which has been in development for some time, aims to ensure that future growth and development in Pittsford adhere to carefully considered guidelines. The Town Board is expected to take a final vote on the proposed changes at its meeting on March 27.
Public participation is strongly encouraged. The hearings provide an opportunity for residents to express their opinions, ask questions, and share any concerns they may have about the proposed zoning regulations.
Those unable to attend in person can still participate by submitting comments via email to zoningupdate@townofpittsford.org before or during the hearings. Additionally, the hearings will be live-streamed, ensuring that community members can stay informed even if they are unable to be there in person.
For those interested in reviewing the proposed changes ahead of time, the final draft of the revised Zoning Code is available online at this link. A QR code for quick access has also been provided in official announcements.
Zoning codes play a crucial role in shaping the character of a town, influencing everything from new construction and business development to green space preservation and housing density. Pittsford residents have a unique chance to help shape these regulations before they are finalized.
With the upcoming vote on March 27, now is the time to engage, ask questions, and provide feedback that could impact the town for years to come.
