RIT Alumnus behind historic Trump Rally photo

Rochester, New York – The photographer of the historic Trump photo from the Pennsylvania shooting at the Trump rally on Saturday is Evan Vucci, a graduate of RIT.
the image that was taken moments after the incident, showing the former president Donald Trump raising his fist while being encircled by secret service agents and hurried off stage.
Vucci earned a bachelor’s degree in professional photographic illustration in 2000, according to RIT.
Additionally, Vucci added his name to the list of Rochester Institute of Technology alumni who have won a Pulitzer Prize by becoming the eleventh!
The Associated Press’s main photographer in Washington, D.C., contributed to the AP photography team’s 2021 Breaking News Photography top award win for images that showed the nation’s reaction to George Floyd’s police shooting.
Among the 20 shots that the ten-member team to be judged submitted, Vucci sent in two. In one image, protestors are seen gathering in the rain outside the White House in Washington, D.C., while in the other, a car is overturned by demonstrators on May 31, 2020.
As a result, Vucci joined the group of eleven alumni who have already received a total of fifteen Pulitzer Prizes.
