Police officer resigns after off-duty incident in Irondequoit
Irondequoit, New York – After an incident in a bar in Rochester, an Irondequoit Police officer has turned in his badge.
According to sources, Jason Hughes resigned from the force this week – a move that follows an incident at Temple Bar on East Avenue.
According to Irondequoit Police Department, Hughes was off duty at the time and the matter is being investigated by the department. Officials would not provide specifics.
Back in 2011, Hughes was criminally charged in connection with a bar fight and suspended for a year.
He was acquitted and reinstated in 2012.
