Each year, college football teams participate in the fundraiser for Camp Good Days

Brockport, New York – College football teams can once again compete for a worthy cause at a local fundraising event.

On Saturday, athletes from the College of Brockport Golden Eagles and St. John Fisher University Cardinals participated in the Camp Good Days Courage Bowl XIX.

Since its start in 2004, the football benefit has developed into one of the nonprofit’s biggest fundraising events.

Camp Good Days chooses honorary coaches and cheerleaders for the game from among campers who have been diagnosed with cancer and who would not often receive the chance to play.

“A lot of people come to it, and it’s a really nice event,” honorary cheerleader Hannah Koepsell remarked. “All the money raised here helps a lot of kids out.”

Following a 35-0 victory over the Cardinals, Brockport was awarded the “Teddi Trophy”. Teddi Mervis, the inspiration behind Camp Goods Days and the daughter of the camp’s founder is honored by the trophy’s name.
