Covid-19 status and updates in Monroe County, higher average rates on infected and deaths recorded

Monroe County, N. Y. – As of Friday, January 22, 2021, 893 individuals have died and 44,771 positive coronavirus tests were confirmed by the Monroe County Department of Health.

Of the 44,771 cases, 368 as of Friday afternoon were new. As of Friday, the seven-day rolling average positive rate is 5.7 percent, taking the rolling average of new cases to 365 a day for seven days.

The reported cases include the following patients, by age and gender:

  • 751 boys, 710 girls and one non-binary child under 10 and one unidentified
  • 3,789 between 10 and 19, 1,896 male, 1,887 female, two non-binary and four unidentified
  • 7,172 are in their 20s, 3,203 men, 3,948 women, 16 non-binary and 5 unidentified
  • 5,661 are in their 30s, 2,569 men, 3,073 women, 14 non-binary and five unidentified
  • 4,748 are in their 40s, 2,307 men, 2,415 women, 8 unidentified and 18 non-binary
  • 5,533 are in their 50s, 2,536 men, 2,968 women, 22 non-binary and 7 unidentified
  • 3,830 are in their 60s, 1,888 men, 1,932 women, 8 non-binary, and 2 unidentified
  • 2,302 are in their 70s, 1,076 men, 1,196 women, 3 non-binary and 27 unidentified
  • 1,364 are in their 80s, 568 men and 795 women, and one non-binary
  • 839 are in their 90s, 216 men, 623 women and one non-binary
  • Three men and 14 women, 100 years old or older

As of Friday afternoon, 714 individuals were hospitalized in the Finger Lakes area, 139 of whom were in the ICU.

The rolling average of available hospital beds for seven days is 33 percent. The 7-day rolling average of available ICU beds is 22%.
