A new outreach program is developed by Pathways to Peace to assist RCSD students

Rochester, New York – Mayor Evans unveiled a new program to assist Rochester City School District kids as they get ready to return to class.

A new outreach methodology developed by Pathways to Peace seeks to be more proactive than reactive. The organization’s goal is to assist kids both within and outside of the classroom.

Mayor Evans stated, “We know that carries over to school. We have to recognize and deal with the very real challenges that our young people are facing today.” “You are not thinking about learning or passing ELA, math, or science tests if you are arriving at school with these problems.”

These services will keep an eye on attendance records, visit the homes of kids to establish a rapport with the families, organize seminars, and speak up on behalf of the needs and interests of the students.

Together with fostering tight collaboration between educators, counselors, and administrators, this new model guarantees open contact with families within the RCSD community. Additionally, parents are urged to keep spending time and getting to know their kids.

Additionally, Mayor Evans wants parents and students to be aware that there will be more police officers on duty throughout the arrival and dismissal times.

On Thursday, September 5, the Rochester City School District will start classes.
