A 27-year-old man from Rochester sentenced for role in drug ring

Rochester, New York — A 27-year-old Rochester man is going to prison for dealing narcotics.

Jakeel Irvin was convicted of conspiring to distribute and distributing, 40 grams or more of fentanyl. Wednesday He was sentenced to 71 months in prison by U.S. District Judge David G. Larimer.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Irvin conspired with others to sell fentanyl in 2018 in the area of Wilkins Street.

He stored, manufactured, and distributed controlled substances at a residence on Thomas Street. A search warrant yielded 81 baggies of cocaine, 203 baggies containing a mixture of heroin and fentanyl, assorted drug paraphernalia, and packaging materials. A second search warrant executed at the defendant’s residence on Bernard Street yielded approximately $1,598 of proceeds from drug sales.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Irvin acted as a supervisor in the conspiracy, directing at least one other individual who worked at the Thomas Street drug house and who worked on Wilkins Street.
