Winter is returning and is expected to stay for now

Rochester, New York – Although we had a few drops of rain earlier this morning in Rochester, it is still dry right now. This afternoon, there will be a return of colder air, and the temperature will drop rapidly from the 40s to the 30s.
It is also anticipated that the direction of the wind may change in the afternoon.
Into the afternoon and evening, snow showers and possibly even a few snow squalls are predicted in locations where the sun is shining. As we return to the 20s, we’ll see them last through the night as well.
Snow is expected to persist on Monday, with conditions likely to resemble those of today. On Monday, peak temperatures will only get up into the mid-to upper-30s. Snow showers will begin to taper off in the afternoon and won’t be as common. Tuesday is going to see more snow showers, but they’ll be more widespread than they were the days before.
On Wednesday, a budding disturbance in the sky will increase the likelihood of snowfall. While there may be some rain mixed in, the likelihood is more likely to be snow.
We should also experience a brief return to the 40s in terms of temperature! Thursday promises more sun, temperatures in the thirties, and a risk of snow showers. Friday will continue to be dry and sunny, with highs in the 30s.
We’ll keep a close eye on next weekend because it appears uncertain what will happen, depending on how warm it gets! Keep checking back.
