Rochester, N.Y. – In connection with a deadly shooting last year at a Halloween party, a Rochester man is facing charges.
Tireek Burden is accused of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a firearm.
In the early morning hours of Nov. 1, Rochester Police were called to an address on State Street for a reported shooting. When police officers arrived on the scene, 31-year-old Travis Johnson was identified with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital and died there.
A second victim, Glenn Burden, was taken in a private car to the hospital, where he died later.
Police claim that Glenn and Tireek Burden, who are brothers, were at the State Street address attending a Halloween party. Apparently, Tireek Burden, who reportedly had a handgun, was involved in a shootout. Police stated that in the shooting, Travis Johnson and Glenn Burden were also involved.
Tireek Burden was arrested with assistance of the Police Department of Greece on Friday. At the time of his arrest, a 40 caliber handgun was found in his possession.
Burden was charged with murder in connection with the death of Johnson. Police stated that there are no other suspects being investigated at this time, but the investigation is still underway. More charges can be submitted to a grand jury, they add. Saturday is set for him to be arraigned.
In the Nov. 1 shooting two others also were injured. They were both treated and discharged from the hospital later on.
