Rochester, New York – A grand jury indictment was unsealed Tuesday morning against Salahuddin Floyd Jr., 18. He was accused of shooting and killing a Rochester teen getting off a school bus but has pleaded not guilty to murder charges.

Floyd Jr. has been charged with murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

In March, he allegedly shot and killed 17-year-old Bryson Simpson on Otis Street.

Bryson was a student at Edison Tech. Floyd pleaded not guilty Tuesday. “Anyone that’s murdered, it’s horrific and sad. Given that it’s a 17-year-old who was walking home with his friends, it’s just senseless. It really was senseless,” Monroe County Assistant District Attorney Michael Harrigan said.

Over the weekend, Floyd was apprehended by the United States Marshals Task Force.

He is due back in court next Friday. He is being held without bail.
