Rochester City School District to look further at school closures, reconfigurations

Rochester, New York – The Rochester City School District is considering a proposal for making changes to some school configurations.

According to Superintendent Dr. Lesli Myers-Small, the district has lost close to 6,000 students in the last six years. The proposal is driven by declining attendance.

13 elementary and secondary schools would be impacted, as it stands now.

On Thursday, the school board will hold a working zoom session on the matter. There is no opportunity for public comment at school board work sessions.

The meeting can be watched via RCSD’s Facebook and YouTube pages. It begins at 5 p.m.
