R.P. Fedder announces job losses for workers in Rochester’s manufacturing sector
Rochester, New York – R.P. Fedder Industrial, LLC is going to lay off a number of its manufacturing employees in Rochester.
Up to 25 employees are anticipated to lose their jobs. R.P. Fedder president Chris Fox says those workers could choose to work in Chicago, but he would have rather stayed in Rochester.
“We’re committed to helping the affected manufacturing employees find new placements during this difficult time,” Fox added. Even though everyone has the option to travel to the Chicago facility, many of them have Rochester origins, so that isn’t possible for them. These people are devoted, diligent workers who will benefit any company.
R.P. Fedder was acquired by Rensa Filtration. This Illinois-based business produces solutions for mission-critical air filtration. Rensa recently declared its intention to combine the production of industrial and medical filter manufacture. This consolidation included R.P. Fedder.
Only workers at R.P. Fedder’s custom manufacturing division will be impacted by the layoffs. The distribution division’s workforce won’t be impacted.
For more than 60 years, R.P. Fedder claims to have been the biggest supplier of air filters in the Finger Lakes, with its products found in the majority of hospitals, schools, colleges, and manufacturing companies. Additionally, they have created and furnished clean workstations and cleanrooms.
