Protesters against mandatory vaccines in Rochester
Rochester, New York — Some people argue they should have the freedom to choose whether or not they will receive the vaccine.
According to Gov. Cuomo, the “vaccine-or-test” model is the best option for public-facing workers at private hospitals and teachers.
On Monday, more than 100 people rallied and marched outside Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester in opposition to mandatory vaccines. They say they don’t want vaccines forced on them.
“If we don’t have the right to choose what goes into our body, where does that lead us in medicine?” asked Devan Lapresi, RN. “So, we are standing up in unity and solidarity for all New York state workers, health care workers, anybody.”
According to the governor, all people, including those who are fully vaccinated, should wear a mask in public, indoor settings in areas of substantial or high-risk transmission.
