Penfield Costco has withdrew their proposal, and a new plan is anticipated
Rochester, New York – Wednesday was the day that the developers who were behind a proposal that would bring a Costco to Penfield withdrew their initial application.
The proposal for the sketch design that was presented in July included a store that was 170,000 square feet in size, a facility for pickleball, four apartment buildings that each contained 26 units, and commercial structures.
At a recent meeting of the Penfield community Board, a number of people voiced their opposition to the first proposal, with some of them arguing that the project “would damage the entire town.”
Concerns about traffic, safety, and the ecology were also raised by locals.
Wednesday was the day when developers decided to withdraw that request, stating that they intended to make modifications based on the input they received before resubmitting a new application.
