Part of the trimmed list of 2025 funding recipients is revealed by United Way of Greater Rochester

Rochester, New York – A few of the organizations on its whittled list—which was created by United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes—that will begin receiving vital funding in 2019 have been made public.

89 NGOs in the United Way’s six-county service area have been selected to share in multi-year program funding totaling over $6 million.

A week prior, United Way had announced that it would be “evolving” its Community Impact Fund, cutting the amount in half and depriving a number of nearby organizations of roughly $5 million in financing.

Among the groups affected are the Center for Youth and Foodlink, which is the only food bank in the area. United Way attributed the situation to both the pandemic’s aftereffects and a drop in donor contributions.

“Community drives United Way’s operations. President & CEO of United Way Jaime Saunders said in a statement, “We listen and address the needs of the community. “A comprehensive support strategy for our nonprofit sector includes the multi-year grants as one of its components. We understand that our neighbors have pressing needs and cannot wait for our entire strategy to develop, so in addition to our commitment to supporting the multi-year recipients in 2025, we will also assist with any transition of crucial services offered by our current multi-year partners today.

56 of the 97 programs that the funding will support were revealed in the press release on Friday. On that list are:
