Monroe County authorities arrest two suspects after violent robbery at Henrietta Target, but a third accomplice escapes during a high-speed chase, local authorities seek public help to find the third suspect

Henrietta, New York – Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested two suspects involved in a violent robbery at a Target store in Henrietta, but a third individual remains on the run. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the final suspect.
The incident unfolded on the evening of March 2, when deputies responded to a larceny in progress at the Target on Marketplace Drive. According to investigators, two individuals loaded a shopping cart with merchandise and attempted to leave without paying. When a store employee intervened, one suspect forcefully yanked the cart away while the other shoved the worker against a wall. They then fled to a waiting black SUV driven by a third accomplice.
Deputies quickly located the vehicle, but the suspects refused to stop, leading law enforcement on a chase into the City of Rochester. During the pursuit, one suspect jumped out of the vehicle near Lyell Avenue and Broad Street, but officers, with help from the Rochester Police Department, swiftly took him into custody. The chase continued, and another suspect bailed out near Dewey Avenue and Emerson Street, managing to evade capture. The driver was eventually stopped and arrested on Alameda Street.
Authorities recovered the stolen goods—valued at around $2,000—from the suspects’ vehicle. The two arrested individuals have been identified as Clem J. Long Jr., 22, and Lavell E. Harris, 40, both of Rochester. They now face a range of serious charges, including robbery in the second degree, grand larceny, and unlawful fleeing of a police officer. Long was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Following their arraignments in Henrietta Town Court, Long was remanded to the Monroe County Jail with bail set at $5,000 cash or a $10,000 bond. Harris, however, was released to pretrial services.
Meanwhile, the third suspect remains at large, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to submit any tips by emailing mcsotips@monroecounty.gov and referencing case number 25-038995.
As the search continues, investigators are working to piece together more details about the suspect who escaped. Law enforcement officials emphasize that even though two individuals are in custody, the case is still active, and they are determined to bring all involved to justice.
