Infant is dead, other child injured after their mother with alleged mental health issues throws them off high bridge in lake and flees state

Children are the most beautiful thing in the world that could ever happen to people and having kids is a blessing from God.

Many people after conceiving children are trying their best to provide the best conditions to their kids while growing up, they enable them the best education, they love them unconditionally and simply enjoy watching them grow in front of their eyes.

But there are also parents who are facing mental health problems and due to their illness, they do terrible things to their loved ones.

Such an incident happened recently where a mother with alleged mental health issues was taken into custody after throwing her two kids off a bridge.

Officers responded to a call about a child floating into the water of a Louisiana lake. Upon arrival at the lake, they were able to locate the floating body and pulled it out of the water on the shore, but unfortunately the infant boy showed no signs of life and was pronounced dead later.

Officers also noticed another body, a 5-year-old male juvenile, in the water. The child was rescued and taken into a hospital for treatment of what appeared to be life-threatening injuries. After being hospitalized, the kid’s injuries have been downgraded to non-life threatening and he is expected to survive.

Authorities initially believed the children have gone into the water a grade-level bridge over a small bay on the lake, but further investigation showed they were thrown from the much taller highway bridge

Officers at the hospital were allowed to talk to the kid who helped them identify the person responsible for the incident. The kid said their mother, the 32-year U. Black, had thrown them off the bridge into the lake.

Authorities believed there was a third child in the water, but after a deeper investigation and after searching the lake, they confirmed that the child was safe.

Multiple agencies were engaged in the mission for saving the kids.

Allegedly, the mother was trying to flee the state but was noticed at a rest area over the Louisiana-Texas state line by a patrolling officer on Interstate 20 and was arrested immediately.

Black has been charged with one count each of second degree murder and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

Despite the mother being arrested, officers couldn’t be happy with the outcome of the incident and all of them were left speechless since one of the kids lost its life and the other one was on the verge of facing death.

After the incident officials spoke about the need for better mental health services throughout the state.
