Rochester, New York – The gas prices in the Rochester area are on the rise as they follow the national increasing trend, the AAA reported.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine is taking its tall as the global oil prices are increasing on a daily basis and this trend in expected to continue in the upcoming period especially after president Biden announced United States will stop oil import from Russia.

According to AAA report, the current gas prices in the Rochester area are $4.23 per gallon on average, which is 44 cents increase from the gas prices seen last week.

This is just a cent lower compared to the record gas prices recorded in 2008 when a gallon of gas on average was $4.24 in the Rochester area.

This increasing trend forced some people to fill up their tanks, but gas prices are expected to go up in the upcoming week so everyone will be more or less affected.

“What I’ve seen in L.A., $7 dollars a gallon. It’s not too bad for us,’ said Rochester resident, Steve Panda.

“Very day I kick myself for not getting gas the day before,” said Rochester resident, George Fling.

“It’s such a gamble. It’s like do I get gas today. Do I wait? I don’t know what’s gonna happen. $94.40. I’m going to pay that number tonight,” Fling said.
