52 new COVID-19 cases reported in Monroe County
Rochester, New York — According to the Monroe County Department of Public Health, 52 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Monday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 68,283 and announced five COVID-19 related deaths but did not provide the dates they occurred.
As of Aug. 2, the 7-day average positivity rate for the county based on combined PCR and antigen test results is 2.5% and the 7-day average of new cases is 55.
According to health officials, 62% (460,401 people) of Monroe County residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 435,899 residents are fully vaccinated as of Aug. 2.
A total of 1,351 people in Monroe County have died from COVID-19.
The Monroe County Department of Public Health resumed providing an update on new COVID-19 cases every weekday on July 27.
