Beer in honor of Christian Koch, fallen National Guard airman
Rochester, New York – Heroes Brewing Company on Atlantic Avenue in Rochester will again brew a beer in honor of a 39-year-old, Christian Koch, one of three killed in a crash in Mendon in January 2021.
Portions of the sales from the pineapple mango kolsch called CW4 Koch will help pay for medical expenses for Luke Pappert, the 6-year-old child of a fellow soldier who, along with his father and grandfather, was injured in a boating accident in September 2020. Koch’s family requested they receive proceeds.
“Christian would get the biggest kick out of having a beer in his name. He was the life of the party and never turned down the chance for a good beer and conversation,” his widow, Teressa DaGama, said in a statement.
The artwork on each can has been designed by Local artist Anthony Walker.
“We promised Teressa that we wouldn’t forget. We promised Christian that we wouldn’t forget. And we promised his fellow soldiers and friends that we wouldn’t forget,” said Greg Fagen, co-founder of Heroes Brewing. “And we intend to slick to those promises. ”
