At least 2,000 people lost power Tuesday night in the Rochester area
Rochester, New York — Tuesday night as there were three separate large outages in the Rochester area.
According to the RG&E outage map, more than 600 people without power near South Goodman Street and Caroline Street. About 1,300 were shown to be without power near Lake Avenue and West Ridge Road, but that number has since dropped to 10. Additionally, more than 120 people are without power in Parma.
More than 600 people were without power on the border of Rochester and Irondequoit near Seneca Avenue and East Ridge Road, but their power has since been restored.
There are also several smaller outages throughout the city and surrounding area affecting 50 people or fewer.
Estimated restoration times range from 10 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
RG&E said, “The extreme heat for the last few days has been placing increased demand on our system and overloading it in places, causing scattered outages throughout the region today. Our crews are onsite addressing the current outages and working to restore power as quickly as possible.”
