A brain tumor survivor plays at the Fairport Music Festival

Fairport, New York – At the Fairport Music Festival on Friday and Saturday, dozens of musicians took center stage. After enduring adversity, seasoned performers, novices, and even some well-known faces made a comeback to the stage.

“We’ve been on a long journey,” Sarah Harrison remarked. She said that her son Jack has always had a strong love for music.

“My family and I have always loved music. “Music has a healing effect,” she said.

Jack had some indications when he was younger, but Harrison claimed she never imagined them would result in the diagnosis he got in 2018.

“He underwent sixty weeks of chemotherapy and an additional six weeks of radiation therapy for his brain tumor,” she stated.

Harrison claimed that Jack maintained his fortitude during the treatments.

“He makes his way through medical appointments on his own. We are just going to let the warriors lead us for the time being. He is a warrior, after all, and he makes all of the doctor visits.

Jack also found solace in music during such appointments. After his treatment was over, he made the decision to follow his passion and form a band.

“Jack is leading his band now, and you’re just as amazed as before. Harrison remarked, “As a mother, I am just so thankful that he’s healthy, thriving, and doing what he loves on stage.”

His band played at the Fairport Music Festival on Saturday. After the show, we had a chance to speak with Jack.

“It’s nerve-racking, but I’m really thankful when I walk off that stage and see everyone is just supporting me and doesn’t have a bad attitude about me,” Jack remarked.
