Monroe County cancels travel advisory
Rochester, New York – Last night, due to the wind storm, Monroe County rescinded its “no unnecessary travel” advisory.
As crews are still working to clear some roadways, motorists should still exercise caution.
While roadways are generally clear, motorists are reminded to treat any non-functioning traffic signal as an all-way stop.
Residents who remain without power may access these town facilities today as warming centers and to charge cell phones and other small devices:
Greece Town Library, 2 Vince Tofany Boulevard, from noon to 4 p.m.
Chili Community Center, 3237 Chili Avenue, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If needed, hours at warming centers may be extended.
Monroe County encourages residents in neighborhoods without power to check on vulnerable or elderly friends and family. They also recommend residents utilize any already open public spaces, such as retail stores or restaurants to warm up, and.
According to utility workers with Rochester Gas and Electric and National Grid, they continue to assess the damage and make repairs.
