92-year-old woman killed in house explosion in Lackawanna
New York – A house explosion occurred in Lackawanna Tuesday morning.
Around 7:20 a.m. fire crews and police were called to 91 Bedford Avenue and responded to find the home completely destroyed with a fire burning from the foundation.
According to investigators, 92-year-old Irene Sanok was found dead inside of the home. No one else is believed to have been inside at the time.
Seven nearby homes were damaged by the impact of the explosion.
A neighbor, Gary Wayne, tells Fox Buffalo that the explosion “rocked the house.”
At this point, the cause of the explosion is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
