47-year-old Canandaigua man charged with the attempted criminal sex act
Canandaigua, New York — A Canandaigua man tried meeting up with someone he thought was a minor for sexual activity.
A 47-year-old Dana Taylor is charged with the attempted criminal sex act.
According to Canandaigua Police, Taylor used social media in an attempt to meet up with an individual he thought was a 14-year-old. He ended up meeting with an undercover detective with the Canandaigua Police Department.
He was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in court next month. Police say further charges are pending.
According to the police reports, this comes amid several similar arrests in recent weeks out of Canandaigua. Last week, former Walworth Town Board member and Walworth Fire Department Chief Karel Ambroz, II was charged with an attempted criminal sex act after police allege he used social media in an attempt to meet someone he thought was a minor for sexual activity. He resigned his seat on the board and was removed as chief following the arrest.
