Carjacking in Irondequoit after social media app meet-up
Irondequoit, New York – On Wednesday a carjacking occurred in Irondequoit after an interaction through a social media application.
According to Irondequoit Police, an individual met up with someone they met on the app before they returned to the victim’s home.
Police say the suspect stole the victim’s car after threatening them with a knife.
Later, the vehicle was found in the City of Rochester where a person was detained that police are calling a “person of interest”.
According to police, this crime was an isolated incident and no one was hurt.
The investigation is ongoing.
