Two hospitalized after a house fire on Lyell Avenue
Rochester, N.Y. – Two people are hospitalized after a house fire on Lyell Avenue in Rochester. Eight people are left without home due to this fire.
Fire crews arrived at the scene within a seconds around 3 p.m. on Wednesday because the fire was next to a fire station.
When the fire began seven people were inside the home. One of the two hospitalized persons was trapped by the flames and jumped off the roof of the house to escape. That person suffered burn injuries and a broken leg. The other person suffered minor burn injuries.
According to firefighters, the other 8 persons were able to exit the home safely.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
