Wreath-laying ceremony in Monroe County as part of Sheriff’s Week
Rochester, New York — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office held a ceremony honoring law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.
On Thursday wreath-laying a ceremony was held as part of Sheriff’s Week.
According to Sheriff Todd Baxter, the memorial isn’t just for the fallen, but for all members of law enforcement.
“We love you, we love your sacrifice, we love the sacrifice of your loved ones, and that sacrifice is not in vain,” he said Thursday. “But we must also remember the honor, the nobility of this profession.”
Sheriff’s Week runs through Saturday.
