Wednesday night incident was fatal for a pedestrian, a 77-year-old woman, struck and killed in northeast Rochester
Rochester, New York – Elderly woman was struck by a vehicle and killed Wednesday night in northeast Rochester, the local police confirmed.
According to the incident report, a 77-year-old woman whose identity was not immediately released by the authorities was struck by a vehicle around 9 p.m. on Norton Street, just east of North Goodman Street.
Right after she was struck, several bystanders went to provide medical aid. When first responders arrived at the scene, she was suffering serious injuries.
She was transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital in critical condition where she was later pronounced dead due to the heavy injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim remained at the scene and was cooperating with the authorities. No charges were filed against.
The incident remains under investigation and we will update the case when more details are available.
