Twins dropping Rochester as AAA affiliate

The Minnesota Twins have informed the Rochester Red Wings that they are ending their relationship as MLB team and AAA affiliate.
The Wings have been the home of the Twins top prospects for the last 18 years. While the Twins will move their players to near by St. Paul, the Red Wings await word from Major League baseball as to which team will call Rochester home.
Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason tells 13WHAM news that it is their understanding that Rochester will get a new Major League team’s AAA affiliation.
“We knew there would be shuffling amongst MLB and MILB teams with the overhaul of the minor league system,” Mason said.
He said the organization hopes to have an update in the next few weeks.
