ROCHSTER, N.Y. — When you come to Rochester’s Community Garage Sale and Superflea, you have to come in with an open mind.

It has a mixture of local vendors selling their own handmade products, like Nur Fadhila Jamahari-Seils, the owner of JamaLeema house. She sells products that she designs out of resin.

What You Need To Know

Rochester’s Community Garage Sale and Superflea has people selling both handmade products and stuff from around their own homes

The mix of stuff is perfect for customers like Kaitlyn Rickard from Webster, who is ready to be surprised by what she may discover

Community Garage and Superflea at Public Market are on select Sundays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“I love doing art,” said Nur. “I start doing small pieces like jewelry, and then when I think I can do it then I go big. Like I make all the big stuff.”

Her proud husband, Yale Seils, stays by her side to help her sell her products.

“She basically adds colors and designs and layers stuff,” said Yale. “She makes her own molds.”

She said she learned how to make these products on YouTube about two years ago. She started selling them online on Facebook and Etsy, but the market gives her a physical place to sell her products.

“I love how people say they love my art it makes me happy,” said Nur.

The Community Garage Sale and Superflea also has people like Brad Heyes and his family, who sell stuff from around their own homes at a bargain price, like at any regular garage sale.

“It’s good to get some stuff out of the house,” said Heyes. “We ask them questions about what they’re looking for or if we have that or if the price is good or right.”

The mix of stuff is perfect for customers like Kaitlyn Rickard from Webster, who is ready to be surprised by what she may discover.

“I’m moving into my first apartment in San Francisco actually so looking at deals. Got some barstool chairs last week, two for $10 which was awesome,” said Rickard. “I think sometimes it’s more fun to come here than go into a target or a TJ Maxx because it’s truly you never know what you’re going to find.”
