St. Patrick’s Day parades return in-person this year
Rochester, New York – As communities prepare to bring back in-person St. Patrick’s Day parades, it’s snowy in upstate New York.
On Saturday morning, the city of Buffalo got a fresh snow cover. Their parade is set for next week.
While Albany’s has been pushed back because of the weather, parades are still scheduled in Central New York and Rochester.
Despite the snow, the bagpipes will still play in Syracuse. Our Shalon Stevens is on the parade route with a look at preparations and the conditions.
This year, after being canceled for the last two years because of the pandemic, the Syracuse St. Patrick’s parade is back. This is the 40th year for the parade.
It’s heavier snow coming down. The snow is beginning to pile up on the streets, but snowplows are coming through.
If you’re traveling into Downtown Syracuse, make sure you plan out your time accordingly and reduce your speed.
Albany’s parade is now set for next Saturday, March 19, Buffalo is set for March 20.
