St. John’s will shut down the Penfield Green Homes complex

Penfield, New York – The closing of the Green Homes facility has been confirmed by St. John’s, one of the senior care providers in the Rochester area.

According to St. John’s, the decision was made in response to personnel issues, poor Medicaid reimbursement rates, rising expenses, and financial concerns.

According to its website, the Green Homes are two townhomes in Penfield that can accommodate ten people each.

“To ensure a seamless and dignified transition to alternative care options, including assured placement at St. John’s Home or other appropriate facilities, we are collaborating closely with residents, families, and the New York State Department of Health,” the statement said.

When the closure will take place is unclear.
