Spirit Airlines coming to Rochester airport
Rochester, New York — Spirit Airlines is coming to the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport.
The company will offer non-stop daily service to Orlando along with non-stop flights four days a week to Myrtle Beach.
This will make Rochester the only airport in Upstate New York to offer flights from the low-cost carrier.
“So many residents like to go down south. Myrtle Beach, we go to Orlando, Fla. I know my kids are very excited about this, as well,” said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. “This is just another remarkable sign that Rochester, Monroe County, our area here – we’re growing, we’re ascending. Our best days are really ahead of us.”
Spirit Airlines will become the eighth airline to operate at Rochester’s airport.
Service begins June 24, but passengers can begin booking tickets right away.
