Six people arrested after stolen car spotted by Gates Police
Gates, N.Y. – Six people, including three juveniles, were arrested after a car chase Friday night.
Around 11:00 p.m. a Gates Police officer spotted a stolen car on Buell Road in the vicinity of Wednesday’s deadly car jacking.
During a two mile pursuit, a loaded handgun was tossed from the vehicle. A second pistol was located inside the car.
Three 18-year-olds, two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old were arrested
Allowing kids to run the streets leads to potentially life long consequences for innocent victims and the unsupervised child.”
Their criminal backgrounds vary from one being a predicate felon at the age of 18, to another having a prior sawed off shotgun robbery charge, according to Gates Police.
In a statement on social media, Gates Police asked for cooperation of parents. “What’s broken? The Criminal Justice System’s failure to correct behavior and the lack of parenting.”
