Sabrina Renner’s long-standing dedication to the Town of Penfield shines through her leadership in community events, marketing efforts, and her role in managing the Penfield Community Victory Garden

Penfield, New York – In the Town of Penfield, if you’ve ever enjoyed a community event or participated in a local program, there’s a good chance Sabrina Renner was behind the scenes making sure everything ran smoothly. With nearly two decades of service at the Penfield Recreation Department, Sabrina has become an indispensable part of the community fabric, dedicating her career to enhancing the recreational offerings available to residents of all ages.
Sabrina’s journey with the Town of Penfield started in 2001 when she joined Penfield Community Television as a part-time production assistant. Her knack for managing and organizing quickly became apparent, leading to her transition to a full-time role as Special Event Assistant the following year. In 2006, her path took her to the Penfield Recreation Department, where she has remained, growing her expertise and responsibilities over the past 19 years.
Now serving as the Recreation Supervisor, Sabrina’s role is vast and varied. She oversees the programming and event planning for the department, ensuring that each activity is tailored to meet the community’s needs.
Her duties extend beyond planning, as she also manages the Penfield Community Victory Garden and spearheads the department’s marketing efforts. Whether updating the community through the website, the recreational brochure, or social media platforms, Sabrina’s touch is evident in all facets of the department’s outreach.
Sabrina’s commitment goes beyond mere job responsibilities. She is deeply invested in the community, often going the extra mile to assist residents and improve their quality of life.
“I enjoy being able to help people, whether it’s just a question over the phone or coordinating a group of volunteers to clean up their yard,” Sabrina added. “I have made so many meaningful connections since working for the Town, and it has made living in Penfield even more enjoyable.”
Recognizing her pivotal role and dedication, Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts highlighted Sabrina in the March Staff Spotlight, celebrating her nearly two decades of service. “Our recreation team does so much, and Sabrina is a key member of the team,” Leenhouts said.
He added her unwavering commitment to the community and her daily efforts to ensure that Penfield remains a place where people of all ages can find engaging and enriching recreational opportunities.
Sabrina’s impact on Penfield is a testament to her passion and dedication to community service. Through her efforts, she ensures that Penfield is not just a place to live, but a place to live well, continually fostering an environment where recreation and community spirit thrive.
