Rochester teen arrested for carjacking

Rochester, New York — Sunday night Rochester Police have made an arrest in connection to an armed carjacking.
RPD responded to the area of Conkey Avenue for a report of an armed carjacking robbery, just before midnight.
Shortly after, police began investigating and heard gunshots coming from the direction of the identified stolen vehicle in the area.
RPD received a ShotSpotter activation in the area of Glenwood Avenue and chased the stolen vehicle to Jay Street.
The suspect fled the vehicle after a brief chase but was taken into custody after getting bit by a police K9.
The juvenile was taken to Strong Hospital for treatment of his injuries and was released.
The investigation is ongoing.
