Rochester Police make arrests in two resent homicides

Rochester, New York — Two suspects are in jail following two recent homicides in the city. Rochester Police announced the names of the victims in each incident.

A 46-year old male, Shawn Appleberry, from Rochester, was charged with murder in the shooting death of Desmin Diggs, 42-years-old, from Rochester, on East Ridge Road on Monday morning.

On Tuesday, Appleberry was charged with murder in the 2nd degree and criminal possession of a weapon and will be arraigned in Rochester City Court. This was the latest reported homicide in the city and the 16th this year.

A 43-year-old male Jackie Robinson, from Gates, was charged with murder in the shooting of Chad Wilson, 45-years-old, from Rochester.

On March 17, Wilson was shot multiple times early in the morning of March 12 in the Bay Street area and died from his gunshot wounds. Robinson was also charged with shooting another man that morning, Jerome Mason, 48-years-old, from Rochester, who was released from the hospital on March 16.

Robinson was charged with murder in the 2nd degree, assault in the 2nd degree, and criminal possession of a weapon.

On Tuesday, he will be arraigned in Rochester City Court.
