Rochester, New York – On Saturday, a Purple Heart was presented to the family of Louis Indovina, who served as a Staff Sergeant in the 453rd Bomber Group of the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

Before enlisting in the Army in 1942 and was killed in action over Germany during the war, Sgt. Indovina lived in Rochester.

When he gave his life for his country, he was 20-years-old.

In a presentation ceremony that took place inside the Federal Building in Rochester, the Purple Heart was given to the Indovina family by Congressman Joe Morelle.
