Police: Boy, 16, shot overnight; officers search for more information
Police in Rochester are searching for more information after a teenage boy was shot overnight.
Officers said they were told about a 16-year-old Rochester boy who was dropped off at Strong Memorial Hospital around 1 a.m. Monday
According to police, the boy was driven in a private vehicle to the hospital and came in with a gunshot wound in his “lower body.”
Police said the shooting happened in the area of Genesee Street and Barton Street, but did not have information beyond that.
The boy is in stable condition and is expected to survive.
No one is in custody at this time.
The shooting is one of several that happened in the last 12 hours. Two people were shot on North Street and an 11-year-old boy was shot while inside his house on Magnolia Street.
