Phil Povero returning as Ontario County Sheriff after Henderson resignation
Ontario County, New York – According to a member of the Ontario County Board of Supervisors Philip Povero, Former Ontario County Sheriff, will be returning to the office.
On Friday afternoon, County Judge Brian Dennis filed Povero’s name with the county clerk’s office, appointing Povero to the role which is set to expire on Dec. 31, 2022.
Povero will be taking over the position of Kevin Henderson, who resigned at the end of September.
Henderson resigned after facing multiple allegations of sexual harassment.
At the moment Chief Deputy Sheriff John Falbo is overseeing the department.
Povero is expected to be sworn into office Monday morning around 9 a.m. at the County Clerk’s Office on Ontario Street.
