Open for Business: 585 Rockin’ Burger Bar selling raw products for those who want to avoid grocery store crowds
GATES, N.Y. — As people try to avoid crowds at the grocery store, some restaurants are adapting by selling raw products in an effort to remain open for business.
One of those is 585 Rockin’ Burger Bar in Gates.
The restaurant, bar and party house has been in business for eight years.
But it was hit hard when it’s dining room was closed due to the pandemic.
Owner Gail Gallipeau says they lost out on a lot of events and parties that were scheduled.
They are now offering take-out to their customers.
And they are also selling products, like ground beef, chicken, steaks and eggs for people who want to avoid the supermarkets.
“People don’t understand what goes into running a restaurant and the finances behind it,” Gallipeau said. “We kind of go day to day. So when this happened, it was definitely a scare. But we decided we were going to do whatever we could to help out the community, help out ourselves and that’s what we’ve been doing until we can’t.”
