Mobile vaccination sites coming to New York for farmworkers
Mobile vaccination sites are coming to New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Tuesday.
The mobile vaccination effort will be led by Sun River Health. The New York Farm Bureau has been calling for this type of effort to vaccinate farm workers.
“We want to get everyone vaccinated,” Cuomo said. “We need to reach herd immunity. It’s a fascinating situation where until everybody is safe, nobody is safe.”
Many farmworkers across New York are migrants and seasonal workers. They arrive during the early-spring months, so advocates say it’s important to get them vaccinated soon.
