Man dies after stabbing, woman charged
Rochester, New York – Sunday night a woman is charged with murder after stabbing a man to death in Rochester.
After a report of a stabbing, police responded to Hawley Street near Genesee Street around 11 p.m. Sunday.
According to police, when they arrived on the scene they found Matthew Gaudio, 33, suffering from stab wounds to his upper body. The victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested Charlene Long, 20, of Rochester and initially charged her with assault. Long stabbed Gaudio in the chest three times with a knife, police said.
According to police, Gaudio died from his injuries around 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Police subsequently charged Long with second-degree murder.
Long was remanded to jail and arraigned in Rochester City Court.
