Man arrested in connection to May shooting on South Clinton Avenue

Rochester, New York – On Friday, police officers arrested a Rochester man who shot six times on South Clinton Avenue in May.
According to police reports on May 24, a 30-year-old man was found with life threatening wounds. He was immediately transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where doctors saved his life.
On Friday authorities arrested 35-year-old Phillip Owens. During a search of his residence, crews found 6 ounces of crack cocaine and a loaded, illegally possessed handgun.
Due to the evidence recovered from his residence, Owens is facing several charges connected to the shooting, including first-degree assault and additional charges, including third-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
