Irondequoit town director of administration running for Monroe Co. Legislature

Another Democratic candidate has declared their intention to run for political office in Monroe County this week.
Democrat Maria Vecchio Nicchitta announced Thursday she will be a candidate for the 17th District of the Monroe County Legislature. The seat is currently held by Joe Morelle, Jr.
The announcement seemingly came as a domino effect following Irondequoit Town Supervisor Dave Seeley’s decision not to run for reelection earlier this week. A day after Seeley’s announcement, Morelle officially came forward to toss his hat in the ring in the running to fill the supervisor’s seat.
“Our community needs a Legislator who will deliver real results, not just traffic in division and empty rhetoric,” Vecchio Nicchitta said in a statement.
Vecchio served as Director of Administration and Assistant to the Supervisor throughout the Seeley administration.
