Irondequoit public input on recreational marijuana Tuesday

Irondequoit, New York — Tuesday night the Irondequoit Town Board is holding a public hearing, where it will hear from the community on whether to allow the sale of recreational marijuana.
The board will also accept input on whether to opt-out of on-site consumption licenses in the town.
Local governments can pass their own rules on marijuana use or ban retail dispensaries and cannabis lounges.
Those options must be written into law by December 31.
Earlier this month, in order to opt-out the sale of the drug, the town of Gates passed its own law.
Pittsford is considering a public referendum to let voters decide.
